Before starting our screens for the banking app, we have to analyse a current banking app in order to be able to use this when reinventing our own designs.
I chose this banking app, as I am a current user and my survey results indicated my target audience use it too. I’m familiar with the layout, allowing me to evaluate the good and bad areas of the app.
These are the three screens you see before logging into the app. It gives you option to key in your passcode, use your fingerprint or forgot your password. Also, it greets you by saying “good evening Clodagh.”
I have found majority of the time I’ve not encountered any problems with this login. Sometimes, it crashes and you have to close and reopen it again.
This login screen is minimal and informative. It is presented clearly and is easily interacted with users. I think by keeping everything simple is best and allows for easy navigation.
The home screen follows a simplicity style keeping the white background and colour to a minimum. It is customisable allowing users to have a better experience.
The icons are simple and include labels making it easy to identify them. I think the payment log is too cluttered and should only display certain information, and more when you click on it.
In my opinion, the background should only take up the middle part of the screen as it makes the icons and search bar hard to distinguish. Also, to keep consistency the colour scheme should reflect the colours of the brand or the application (debit card chosen).
The swiping feature allowing you to switch between different currency accounts, making it convenient to go from each one.
The spending feature is something I want to include in my banking since its aimed towards young people. I really like the composition of the screens, how they’re laid out clearly. I prefer how these ones, only use pops of colour to emphasise important areas and the rest remains white.
