My generation including myself, rely on getting our news from Social Media. Wheres, my parents and their generation get their news from watching it on tv on reliable news channel. In my opinion, this is the best way because you know for sure that the information is true. Although, I personally don’t have an interest in what’s going on in the media, So, I prefer looking at highlights of news on Social Media, I can always tell if the information is real or not.

I came across this infographic on informationisbeautiful.net, I love the way it is presented resembling a water bottle broken down into different colour coded system showing where all plastic bottles go after use. The statistics are easily read and clearly stated inside each part. I didn’t know this is a type of infographic but it’s an unique of displaying data.

During the lecture, I was intrigued to learn about the story of Airbnb was set up. I only recently heard about the company here a few years ago. This is an interesting way of combining a timeline with simple illustrations. It’s a good way of story telling with a short summary of each year show underneath, highlighting certain words.

Global Carbon Footprint:

I came across this amazing infographic online, that shows the countries in the world and the sizes of the circles meaning their impact on the world. Again, the shape resembles the shape of a foot. It’s clearly seen what countries have the highest emissions, and the colour coded system breaks down the countries into the different continents of the world.
