This session was very informative and helped me understand how to use the library’s electronic resources to find reliable references for our dissertation. Lorna showed us different ways to find articles through Ulster University’s library catalogue and how to use keywords on USearch to find relevant databases. She also explained the importance of using quotation marks and truncation to get more accurate search results.
Another useful resource she introduced us to was RefWorks, which allows us to store and organise our references in one place and create bibliographies using the Harvard referencing style. I think this will be really helpful when working on my dissertation, as it will make referencing easier and help me keep track of the sources I use.
Overall, I found this session really helpful and feel more confident about finding reliable information for my research. I’ll be able to use these resources when researching my chosen topic and gathering information to support my project.
