Types of Logomarks:

1. Pictorial Marks-

<aside> 💡 These are icons of Graphic symbols that communicate the brand’s image or story in a visual way.

I never considered the meaning behind these types of logos. It’s interesting how recognisable pictorial marks can be without conveying any words or information.


2. Monograms (Letterforms)-

<aside> 💡 This is where the designer uses initial forms of a company name, that’s arranged in a unique and stylised way.

I find it intriguing how you can take a few ordinary letters and transform them into an identifiable brand. I especially am drawn to “Nasa” monogram, how their font is so unique and is almost “space like” and representing the launch of a rocket.


3. Abstract Logos-

<aside> 💡 They use shapes and forms in a non-literal way. They’re good to create your own visual language and meaning, instead of using what’s relevant.
