This week we had no lecture, instead we were given the time to work on our project and our lecturer came around to look at our work to date.
I got some really positive feedback on my branding, which I was really happy with. He pointed out that I should focus on a few important features for my app, ones that really solve the problems my users have. This was helpful because, before I wasn’t sure which features to prioritise. It reminded me that adding too many unnecessary features could make the app confusing and take away from its main goal.
I've decided to take a more considerate approach to the design process. Before jumping into wireframes, I’m going to focus on creating the user flow and site map. The user flow will help me outline the steps a user will take within the app. The site map will allow me to plan the app’s overall structure and layout.
In conclusion, this tutorial was incredibly helpful in confirming that I'm heading in the right direction. It has given me the clarity I need to move forward and focus on the next stage of the project: sketching, once I’ve completed the remaining user research.
