This week, we had a prototyping session with Ronan using the software tool ProtoPie.
Ronan showed us step by step how to add audio to a prototype and set it up properly. After the demo, we got to try it ourselves by making the prototype respond with specific phrases when we asked it questions. This hands-on practice helped us see how adding audio can make a prototype more interactive and engaging.
We also explored another tool called Lottie, which we used to test the camera feature on the mobile version of ProtoPie. This helped us see how animations and real-time interactions can make a prototype feel more dynamic and lifelike. Using these tools together gave us a better understanding of how to go beyond simple designs and create more advanced prototypes.
Overall, I found this workshop really inspiring because it showed me how many different ways you can approach prototyping beyond just using traditional tools. It was exciting to see how flexible and creative the process can be, especially since Figma has some limitations. I learned new methods and ideas I hadn’t thought of before, which made me realise that prototyping isn’t limited to one tool, it can be much more open and creative.
