After watching this video, I’ve realised how vast the Design Industry truly is. I gained valuable insights into the mindset of designers, which will aid me in becoming a successful designer in the future.

Miner opens with a quote: "they're just tools that fulfil a need, and take us where we want to go." I think the meaning behind this quote is that everything developed through Interaction Design is helping to shape our future and improve our lives.

He included a quote by Marshall McLuhan: "we shape our tools, and therefore our tools shape us." What I take from this is that we have control over how our ideas and designs shape the world around us. The development of technology is changing the way we think.

Wilson goes on to ask the question, "What do we want our environment to feel like?" I learned that we should approach the design process based on what we envision for our future. He explains that we often take technology for granted because it has always been present in our generation, and we are not familiar with any alternatives. I realised the importance of continuous learning, as the environment is constantly evolving.

I found one of his final quotes very inspirational as a learning designer: "we get to make things, something small but certainly meaningful." I believe that some of the best inventions start with the most simplistic ideas, which often have the most impact on the world. To benefit the majority of the public, we just need to use our problem-solving skills to come up with solutions.

To conclude, what I take from this video is that screens are our future. It is our role as designers to advance technology in a way that improves our lives as a society.
